I have been trying to install W10 and have numerous failed updates. It downloads and will not install. Is there anyway that I can delete the failed updates? I am running W8.1 Pro.

Many thanks Brink. I have downloaded the Media Creation Tool x64 many times, but it will not open.
This morning I read your post and link and disabled the McAphee Total Protection and tried to open the MCT again..........No Luck!
I have a desktop and notebook and want to update the notebook so that I can decide whether I like W10 or not. Most of my work at home is on the desktop. When I bought the NB it had W7 Home on it and I purchased W8 Pro, later updating to W8.1 Pro as Harvey Norman had a few for sale at $79. I had a lot of difficulty updating to 8.1 Pro but now it is working fine.

I have had the white square on the TB to update previously but now it has disappeared. Downloading the update takes me about 3 - 4 hours using ADSL2. It downloads fine then when it goes to installing it fails! I have tried again and although it says it is ready to install it is downloading again. Will let it run with the Virus Protection disable and see what happens.

I am getting quite frustrated with W10. I have tried downloading it again (as per my previous post) but it will not install.
I still cannot open the Media Creation Tool (?) I have now downloaded 'Rufus' to create a bootable USB using ISO image but when I look with File Explorer at the contents of the USB I have: LOCALE, autorun (icon) and autorun (setup information, which doesn't really contain anything useful).
How can I download the W10 update onto the USB and from where? If I go through updates on the computer it will, once again, download then reject the installation. I do have the W8 Pro discs with the Product Key.

I have started twice to download the link Windows 10 ISO Download and each time it is telling me that it will take between 20 hours to one day to download. This seems to be too long as it is only just over 3GB.
Is this correct?

It depends on your download bandwidth from your ISP, and if there is currently a high load on Microsoft's server.

Have solved the problem with the slow downloads. I did a speed test then contacted my ISP who agreed that the speeds were pathetic. The problem was the modem (I am on ADSL2 as NBN not available in my area yet). I connected an old Netgear modem that I had and the speed increased. The ISP are sending me a new modem so will try and download the Windows 10 ISO then.

Many thanks for your assistance.

Great news. It always stinks when a modem goes south on you like that.
