Solved How to Hide "Upgrade to Windows 10 Home" Update

I can't seem to find instructions in the "Control" panel to hide updates. I'm sick of having to remove the "x" that keeps reappearing next to the Windows 10 Upgrade" update. I'm afraid that when I get any updates for 8.1, that I will not remember to remove the "x" from the Windows 10 upgrade.

Any suggestions on where to find information on "hiding" updates or providing step-by-step instructions on how to hide updates?

you should be able to right click the update and select hide

Well, Brink, I had a good hearty laugh, which I needed. I was able to "hide" the update, thanks to you and KYHI. I have received 3 new updates for 8.1 and I believe they all have to do with Windows 10. Am I correct? So if I'm correct, just "hide" the 3 updates. Right? It's okay to make me laugh again with your response

Oops, I forgot to list the KBS referring to the 3 new updates.......they are KB2976978, KB3055343, and KB3075853.

The KB3075853 update is the one for the GWX app.

Forgive me, but isn't that KB3035583 that's for the GWX app? I can't seem to find what KB3075853 is for (I've even created a thread on this board asking about this vague update that appeared yesterday), and even though I do suspect it's for the Windows 10 update, I can't find anything that confirms that. All MS say about it is that it's for "improvements" to Windows Update, but what improvements it doesn't come clean about.

I'd go ahead and install the updates if you like.

Help....I'm still trying to find out if KB3055343 and KB3075853 are strictly for Windows 10 or for 8.1. I want to "hide" both if not for 8.1.

They appear to be updates for issues with 8.1.

Brink, you're GREAT! Not only did you provide proof that these are for 8.1, but now I know about the "Microsoft Download Center" site. So, I will download these 2 updates (hopefully without any drama). The "more info" option in File Explorer for any updates, does not take you to "Microsoft Download Center". It takes you to some other info screen that does not provide what OS the article is for.

The first link provides some description about what KB3055343 fixes, although you have to go to the Knowledge Base article to find out exactly what it's about. The second link provides no information about KB3075853, bar that it "resolves issues" (what issues?) and its Knowledge Base article simply says that it contains "improvements" (seems more a feature addition word to me than fixes). I really dislike the vagueness when dealing with these updates. Surely it can't tax Microsoft that much to supply a little bit more information?
