axe0,
I have tried that several times, and each time it comes up with one or two issues, which it says are fixed with a green tick
and it says try what you were trying to do before, and I did and the same stuff came up!! Ahh, this has been frustrating me
for a very long time, I have officially run out of ideas!

So when I go to "check now" in PC settings/ updates and recovery (because i'm looking do update my HP Envy Laptop) it says "there was a problem checking for updates" so I then click on "get more info", it then comes up with "more info is available online" "get help with error 80072EF3" below

**NOTE my laptop is always connected to the internet

So I follow the link and I am taken to windows.com below

taken to here

none of these links are helpful. I have run troubleshooter several times, all times its found problems and "fixed them" however, nothing has changed and I am unable to identify and repair network problems!!!!

Im running out of options!

After you ran that tool, did you reboot?

Try in admin command prompt sfc/scannow.

You have a local account, not an administrator account.
In the user accounts overview go to 'Manage another account'.
From there, remove your account.

I'm not certain sure, because its a long time ago that I've done this, but if I'm correct you should be able to add an administrator account imediately after removing your local account.

well I went into manage account, and I couldn't get rid of it, or change the type
so I made another account to see if I could change the type of the account, but
I could only change it from administrator, to standard. still a "local account" either
way????

I don't think the new created account will be a local account.
Give it a shot.
