Because they see the word tracking? Snowden tin foil hat Paranoia? Read something from a Blogger and took it for face value(usually what happens) Or just didn't look it up in services...

In Reliability History- to "check for a solution" needs a service to collect the data and filter it (like Event Viewer) and provide the metadata Microsoft needs/is interested in. And it's sent only if one gave permission Here:

There are about 20-30 Windows tasks running, which monitor user activity and etc.
You can disable them via Task Scheduler, you can easily see, which are running regularly.
The description is pretty clear, so finding them is not difficult, it just takes a little more time.
DiagTrack service is pretty new, firstly presented in Windows 10, it has no description so far.

Not all are related to CEIP, by installing Windows and accepting licence agreement, you agreed to share data about your computer and your activities. But compared to Google, MS has a better privacy policy.

I have not had this one before the last optional updates were installed, no info on mine.
But it is interesting, that your has a full name and mine shows the same way like in 10.
When you doubleclick it, does it shows DiagTrack or a different service name?

DiagTrack-- Maybe it was called something else earlier and was renamed for Win10 and backported to 7 & 8. I have really no idea, and you? I find most of Microsoft's explanation & description too brief and lacking, then I do fill out the "Was this helpful?" questioner and ask them what Blogger wrote this crap.

You can't uninstall them? Did you perchance do Windows Update Cleanup or run DISM after installing? Because that removes the files needed to rollback(if one can).

Yes, I have tried DISM and restorehealth, but sfc scan still fails, but I have messed up system logging, so that is the probable cause. Nevermind, I will install Windows 10 as soon as it released, in 1-2 months.

I have managed to install optional updates, run several SFC scans and it still has no description, curious.
You can't install them?
For the record and in case someone had a similar problem, mine Windows Updates failed, because:
BITS service was unable to start, because Windows Event Log service was unable to start
(it is not listed as BITS's dependent service, so it eluded me).

Once I have enabled all 3 eventlog tasks in perfmon, and restarted, it was fixed.

Well i am bit confused unless i missed something, KB3022345 is an update to enable Diagnostics Tracking services
https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/3022345 saying by doing this update it screwed up your system.

I did not put in this update as you see
Untitled.jpg

But the service is already there an enabled

Untitled2.jpg

So is this an optional update to update this one i already have, even though it says update to enable this service, which it is enabled and there ?

Yup... Actually they rereleased 2 optional updates, because on some systems there were problems. Differences in hardware & software can cause problems for some & for others not. Microsoft try to compensate and correct them.

What was the latest update, date ? May 6th is one in my updates. Guess i should wait till work out kinks, since the one i have is not giving me any issues, it's strange how it says it's an update to enable this service when it is already enabled and i never took the update. Why not just call it an update.
