Just had my first ever W8.1 failure of an update to install. It was KB3022345, one of many optionals offered this morning. This update suggests it was to 'enable tracking' of diagnostics.

Just putting that KB into Google and it seems to be a common failure point. Wonder if this update will get pulled ?

Yeah, same here with KB3022345 on two totally different pc's, comes up with error code 800F0922. I'm getting sick and tired of failed Windows Updates. They very rarely used to fail, but now-a-days it's a common occurrence. Don't they have any QA at Microsoft anymore???

Unlike what has been said on other forums this is not only for UK, but several other countries in EU.
As usual, MS QA people have their heads in their behind.

Rolled back with Acronis (that program should be standard issue lol) and reinstalled omitting said problem update.

Same for me, I am from Turkey, my Windows Pro is English UK version. Might be related with that. Microsoft probably pull out that update, because the workaround somehow hard for common users.

I won't apply it, not that I cannot, but I will wait till Microsoft pull it out.

Hello,

Many users encounter this problem when try to install update KB3022345.
You have to wait if Microsoft fix the problem.

Cheer!

Happened to me, I reselected it and it installed with no problems.

Has anyone else had another go at installing it separately ?

It did not with my main PC (Asus p9X79 Pro mainboard) with my wife's Acer tablet. The installation at the tablet first gave the same error, however at the second try it installed.

I tried several times with my PC, still get the same error. I tried it with my laptop it is same as my desktop PC.

So of the three Windows 8.1 computers I have only in one of them it was successfully installed, but at the second try. At the other two computers I am unable to install it.

"Go to programs and Features / installed updates, deinstall KB3038314, do not reboot, manually install KB3022345, reboot, then install KB3038314 again. Thats it."

I don't know if it works as wrogg say or not, but the update seems to be pulled back as it is no longer available in Windows Update.

I stole it from Microsoft dev forum, I don't think this update even works yet. Clearly they pulled it due to a conflict with the security update.
Its still available as the stand alone installer, and will no doubt be offered again when they fix it.
