Hiyo, EightForums.
Here in Australia its the 15/04/15. So it's probably the 14/04/15 for you, but I was surprised this morning that we got a bunch of updates. Since we didn't get em last week, anyway... I did the thing, installed all the mandatory updates, restarted my computer...
But now for some weird reason, wuauclt.exe is running constantly on my computer. Seriously, I restarted my computer and it started up with my computer. Which is really weird since that process seems kinda redundant given the BITS and Windows Update services. It's strange, the process doesn't do anything and just stays there and runs. Seems to be the real process given its running from C:/WINDOWS/System32, has the digital signature and says the Publisher is Microsoft Corperation. But what's confusing me is the fact its running constantly now and not only that its running under my username. Task Scheduler says nothing about it, did an update change something and cause this behaviour because I'm really confused right now and worried one of the updates bugged out.
Sincerely,
IllusionaryInnocence.
P.S the process doesn't seem to be using much memory anyway. Just 0.5-0.6MB, no CPU but its just there... doing nothing.
EDIT:
Decided to humour myself.
Ran sfc /scannow in an elevated command prompt.
Found corrupted files but wasn't able to fix something.
Ran DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /ScanHealth.
Component Store Corruption was apparently repairable.
Ran DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth
Fixed That.
Ran sfc /scannow.
No integrity violations now.
Ran DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /ScanHealth again.
Component Store is now fine.
Wonder if this'll fix that quirk.
