Hi:
After update Windows 8.1 stalled on “Please wait -- do not restart”.
Windows Update troubleshooter: >
Service registration is missing or corrupt. Not fixed after reset.
Windows update error was fixed: 0X80070057(2015 – 01 – 10 – T – 05_35_51 A).
Problems installing recent updates fixed.
I have not reinstalled the update of January 10 yet. Why do we expect this will work if it didn't work the 1st time?
Is there anything that would lessen the likelihood of repeat stall? I had to reinstall Windows from an image.
Thank you.
