Solved Where is Windows Update?

It's in the Control Panel amongst other places. You can use my shortcut and put it anywhere ya want.

Other than that, I would update drivers from manufacturers' sites only, to avoid any messy problems.

The Control Panel is like a wise SENSEI. :)

Windows 8 CP has it's own updates separate from other operating systems. Don't use W7 updater for W8, it's not affecting W8 at all. You can find any app, setting or file on your computer (in W8) by hitting the Windows key and start typing. An app I always use that runs very well in W8 is "Search Everything". Even after you have uninstalled something you can use SE to find stray tentacle files and pull them out to the Recycle Bin where you can smash them into oblivion with "Eraser", another fine app that runs well in W8. I am running W8CP as my sole OS and loving it. You don't need W7 any more, unless you must cling to the past for some reason.
