Problem with some large updates

Have got a new laptop and the updates keep coming but right now it is stuck on the ones in the pic - if I can ddd it as I am having real problems with the new attachment process. It comes up but then runs for ages with no % download and it is no slouch this machine or my net speed.

I thought it may be thr Readiness tool but it is a nightmare to find too.
Any help would be most appreciated.

Try downloading the file itself as one huge file instead of bits and pieces as windows update does heres the link, then execute the file

Thanks Brooklyn I will try as soon as the mail has caught up seems like it didn't download all of my past emails - well I am hoping that is it. I also have a problem with loading Office and perhaps it is just too much for it to take on but the machine (Asus ROG G750JM) specs are reasonably capable except for a 5400rpm drive - i7 8GBRAM GeForce 860M graphics chip etc

Well have been at this all day and getting nowhere I checked out that download Brooklyn and I get the option down below of run or save and it doesn't matter which I choose it flashes yellow to gold and freezes the machine.

So I am really stuck with whatever I do with this machine and it is brand new, am beginning to think I should just put a new SSD in and install the 7 OEM I have because I am now so frustrated with this awful set up.

Windows update usually fails when a system has vital areas infected..

Spybot & Malwarebytes Free are 2 fantastic options, please use both and lets go from there, also cleanup all temp files with a program such as CCLEANER (crapcleaner) as it was once called....

All of these programs are free, and will not require any payment before fixing the problems it finds...

yes mate I did all the usual scans MBAM SAS Avira and Avast free both these drove me nuts with constant popup ups and eventually I had to uninstall them but must have got something right because they started to install.

Now I tried to install MSE but it told me Windows Defender does a better job so that is all I have at the moment but it seems to be under constant attack from ads. I have one Kaspersky code left and I am keeping it for installing 7 again as the bombardment from all directions has got me put right off this 8.1 on this machine anyway.

Do you have multiple users set up on this machine

It may be from another users settings

What browser are you using? Have you installed ADBLOCK extension on your browser?
