today, I 've heard of windows 8.1.1.
If I want to upgrade to it, is it possible?
and what's new in it?

As you can see, I don't have windows 8.1 pro! I have only windows 8.1, but I'm talking about 8.1.1.
I heard that it has a Start Menu like windows 10, is that true?

No. At best you could say the oddly named Windows 8.1 Update 1 could be 8.1.1, but your friend probably installed something like Classic Shell or one of the various similar programs. Maybe they bought some gray market copy of Windows with some modifications, it's difficult to say other than: There is no Windows 8.1.1 and anyone who tells you there is, would be telling you a lie be it an innocent mistake or deliberate.

It does have a start menu but not the same functionality as Windows Ten. It accesses basic commands such as Task Manager, Control Panel etc. To access it you right click the bottom left hand side of the taskbar

Excuse me!! Windows 8.1 Update (variously called Windows 8.1 Update 1, Windows 8.1 GDR 1, Windows 8.1 2014 Update, Windows 8.1.1) but officially called Windows 8.1 Update. Users will call it whatever they like.

Question from OP Thread Starter, there a newer version of Windows 8.1 retail DVD has update 1 in it ? Cause making me wonder when OP said my friend bought it. Just curious, i never heard of that. :geek:

All had to do is make sure Windows update was updating new updates.
