Hello, today i got on my computer and was surprised by a watermark at the bottom right saying i should activate my windows 8.. Thinking it was an error i restarted my computer and now i have " ab3822e3ff52b74da109c918eefd2ef0.png". I tried doing the command to turn test mode off and restart my computer 3 times and is not working. I checked my activation and it said it was not activated, got fed up and bought another activation code. I get this error

I've googled the error and tried multiple different ways to activate my key and i keep getting this error.
Anyone know how to fix?

Most likely you still have a volume licence key installed. Run the following commands as admin

slmgr.vbs -upk

slmgr.vbs -ipk xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx
(the x's representing your Win 8 Pro key)

slmgr.vbs -ato

You still have a KMS client key installed... see here : Appendix A: KMS Client Setup Keys

When running the 2nd command above, entering the key you purchased, does it say "key sucessfully installed"?

Certainly strange that the KMS key persists... You can download this tool to check the type of key purchased - it should say :
Edition Type : Professional
Description : Win 8 RTM Professional Retail

.. or something to that effect.

Where did you purchase it from anyway? Surely it's not NG4HW-VH26C-733KW-K6F98-J8CK4 as per the link I posted previously.

Also, how were you activated previously? Was there an activator present that allowed KMS activation? - if so that has to be removed.

EDIT:
On the off chance you were unlucky with the key - besides getting your money back - you will need to find the original key...

I glossed over it initially, but your report also shows a hardware out of tolerance error - that may have been the reason for your original de-activation - once that key is re-installed you will need to telephone activate.

Just for the OP's info, To run the tool I just used 7Zip to OPEN the archive & clicked on the .exe file.
Easier than Extracting it. :)
