So my father bought me a laptop that already have a Windows 8 OS.
I have this laptop for like a year now and at Oct 11, Windows gave me a message about the activation
Ive already clicked activate and it said "Thanks, you're all done." but when I close it, It's not activated.
So how can I fix this? Do i need to renew it like every year?

In addition to Brink's advice, you could run the Win8Diag tool to see what the underlying problem could be.

On a Windows 8.0 system you should not need to retrieve the key as it should get it automatically from the firmware table.

On windows 8.1, however, you will need to get your Windows 8.0 key via the key finder and input that manually.
