KB2984006 HELP - I'm Lost!

I received this optional update on 9/8...I believe. I didn't install it because it said optional. Today I checked my HP Support system for any new updates and have the critical/important updates for internet security and Microsoft updates. I decided to first investigate KB2984006 and hit 'more information' to get the details. In the article Microsoft recommends installing this update......so I guess it is important. Well, I have run into a problem. It has a prerequisite to first install 2919355 update April 2014. I checked by installed updates to see if I already have it installed. It is installed on my laptop, date installed 3/18/2014, not an April date. I checked Microsoft website and couldn't find this listed to update with an April date or listed at all. I'm confused and bewildered. I don't know what to do. I need one of the many experts on this site for help. This senior citizen is wiped out.

I checked for it in the Control Panel yesterday......there is no option for updates. I checked other places as well and couldn't find it.

well. kb2919355 that update is part of the major update 1 It apeared on my pc with kb2938439 kb2937592 kb2932046 kb2919442
and was about 1.3GB in size
I could not acces to the internet last month so the update 2 (kb2975719) appeard optional yesterday with the original patch tuesday
and appeard the next day again with this kb2984006 optional but the 719 was important
it installed again

I did what it suggested to get the April 2919355 but it just didn't work. I also posted this problem a couple days later on the windows 8 forum. Alphanumeric replied and with his suggestion was able to install the update successfully about an hour ago. I also successfully installed the other important updates.

Thank you, HippsieGypsie, for your help. It's now 2:30 A.M. so I'm going to go to bed and hopefully get a good night's rest.

1. These KB's must be installed in the following order: clearcompressionflag.exe, KB2919355, KB2932046, KB2959977, KB2937592, KB2938439, and KB2934018.

KB2919442 is a prerequisite for Windows 8.1 Update and should be installed before attempting to install KB2919355
do you have 442 intalled

After trying and not succeeding to install 4006 even manually it showed up in my optional updates again even after hiding it before that when I didn't manage to do it and this time it downloaded and installed without problem. My guess is that MS changed something meanwhile. Now, update cleanup works again too.

Well, at least I did have problem with cleanup but now it works, no idea why, in description it does not show anything it might be connected to it.
