Hello,

In the last week or so my newish laptop keeps showing a very annoying message saying:

Windows Update needs you help: Windows update hasn't been able to check for new updates for the last 30 days. Go to Windows Update to resolve this issue.

The message pops up about once every minute. It's extremely annoying. I have set my computer to automatically check for updates and have manually checked a good few times to try to make the message go away, but it hasn't worked. Windows Update is in fact telling me that I have all the most recent updates.

Can anyone help?

Go to Troubleshooting in the Control Panel, large icons, and run Windows Update troubleshooter.

In the elevated command prompt type sfc /scannow until no corruption, you may have to run this a few times.

NUCCII,

I was having the same problem and your solution worked. I went through all the trouble of making an account just to say "thank you." So, THANK YOU.

Carry on.
