KB2919442 installed then not installed

Hi,

I'm using Windows 8.1 Pro 64 Bit

If I go to Control Panel/Windows Update/View Update History KB2919442 is shown as installed successfully on the 12 March 2014 "BUT" if I go to Control Panel/Windows Update/Installed Updates there is no KB2919442 listed.

If I download KB2919442 directly from Microsoft and try to install it manually it says "This update is not applicable to your computer"

I'm obviously having no success trying to install KB2919355 as it never shows as available in Windows Update and if I download it manually from Microsoft and try installing manually I get the same error message "This update is not applicable to your computer"

Thanks for the reply but I don't think there's a solution to my problem in that tutorial.

At no time do I get an error code, I just get the message "This update is not applicable to your computer" and there's no joy running the DISM tool as I've never got as far as installing KB2919355 because KB2919442 doesn't seem to be installed fully.

I think I need to get KB2919442 installed properly first

I changed the Format from English (United Kingdom) to English (United States) but unfortunately I still get the same error "This update is not applicable to your computer".

I tried both KB2919442 and KB2919355 but they both gave the error
