Never been to Heaven......
So my boss brought his laptop up for me to update for him. First thing was to update the apps, then go from 8 to 8.1. Did that with no hassle. Started checking MS update for 8.1.1 update (KB2919355) and it kept showing up to date, so I looked in "Installed Updates" to make sure I had KB2919442 prerequisite update and to my surprise it was there and installed on 3/18/2014.....but so was KB2919355 also installed on 03/18/2014?! Not sure what to do from here as Update 1 wasn't supposed to be there till 04/08/2014. Any thoughts?

I also downloaded it from MS as a stand alone and it says the update is not applicable. That means it installed the update before even being on 8.1?

So I am not sure if he is actually updated or not.

It is an HP pavillion, AMD Turion x64, 2GB Ram, Windows 8.1 x64

Thanks

Geeve

Hi geeve420,

Any chance your boss (or someone else) could have download those updates in advance? In fact, I remember doing a clean install with the Win 8.1.1 Technet ISO and those updates were shown as "independent" updates (right after a clean install) that were applied in March as well (I think 3/7/2014 was the exact date). However, I did my clean install on 4/5/2014 so that didn't make any sense either. That tells me they were not actually integrated into the ISO itself. However, I just checked my update history and they are no longer listed as such. The only reference I have is the KB2919355 was last installed on 4/16/2014. Go figure.

You can verify if the updates have been applied by opening regedit and doing a search for "buildlabex" (without quotes). If it returns this information, you should be good to go!

Good luck,

Thanks Spring! Not sure if he did or not and he doesn't remember (Go Figure LOL) I pulled up reg edit and searched "BuildLabEX" and it returned: 9600.17041.amd64fre.winblue_gdr.140305-1710

So I guess he is all set.

Thanks again Spring, I was freaking out.....
