I just installed

KB2933809

&

KB2957390

They fixed my Lock screen pictures issues & my Start screen pictures issues & enabled some old programs to function again. :)

Just thought I would pass the information along.

Check Windows Update & see if they are available to you.
They may not be available for all systems.

EDIT-- They fixed my ability to add pictures from my computer to the Forum. :)

I see KB2933809 in my update history, 4/8/2014. I'm pretty sure it came after update 1. I don't see KB2957390 listed though. Can't say as I had any of the problems you mentioned. If I did I didn't notice it. I auto log in and boot right to desktop.

Same here re the updates. And I haven't noticed any issues (yet).

Just did an update search, KB....7390 doesn't show up, nor is it already installed.

My computer shows KB2933809 and KB2957390 as needing to be installed. However, when I try to install I get an error message saying that they are not needed. Tired this over and over even with multiple reboots in between.

Ideas?

Thanks for 'clearing up the confusion David...:)
The reason that Windows Update did not pick up KB2957390 for my system (laptop) is that I do not have Microsoft Internet Information Services installed!

I do have KB2933809 installed which was picked up by Windows Update after KB2919355 (Windows 8.1 Update file) was installed.

MS Kb article on KB2933809 said:
This compatibility update is a software update that improves the compatibility experience in Windows RT 8.1, Windows 8.1, and Windows Server 2012 R2. Microsoft regularly releases Windows compatibility updates to improve the overall user experience.

The kinds of problems that are resolved by application compatibility updates

When you try to install and run certain games or applications in Windows RT 8.1, Windows 8.1, or Windows Server 2012 R2, you may experience one or more of the following symptoms:
The game, the application, or the driver is installed incorrectly.
The game, the application, or the driver causes system instability.
The primary functions of the game, the application, or the firmware do not work correctly.

Compatibility updates trigger several changes in Windows RT 8.1, Windows 8.1, and Windows Server 2012 R2.
The following are the most common.

Hard block
This prevents an application that is incompatible with Windows RT 8.1, Windows 8.1, or Windows Server 2012 R2 from running on the system.
Note Microsoft enables Windows to put a hard block on a non-Microsoft application only if the manufacturer is notified.

Soft block
This notifies you when a primary function of the application may not work or may cause application instability.

Driver block
This may block an existing driver on your computer. When the driver is migrated during the upgrade, an Inbox driver will be installed.
