Solved Update (KB2893984)
Has anyone installed this update? (KB2893984) I ran Windows Update on Feb.10 and got all updates. I ran Belarc Advisor today and it said I was missing a security update (KB2893984). I went to the Microsoft website and the update was there. If I needed it why didn't it install with Windows Update? Should I download and install it?

I'm glad you brought this up Clint. After reading your post I checked my computer and realized I was also missing the same update. Although in my case the version of Win32k.sys on my computer is newer then what the update is offering. Which is why Microsoft didn't offer it to me.

Belarc Advisor, I've noticed has become unreliable over the last few months. It always finds 2 updates for Windows 8.1 that I already have installed. Microsoft Baseline Security Analyzer and Secunia PSI both verify my pc is in fact up to date. Thus, Belarc obviously has a bug in it. I've also redownloaded the 2 updates and they state they are already installed.

Thank you for the explanation and illustration. Secunia and MBSA are fine, the update is not installed yet Belarc is telling me I need to install it for the reasons you all pointed out.

Thanks a lot. I just found it. Why doesn't Belarc get with it and stop reporting it a s something to be downloaded.

I think because it's not listed in installed updates. Just my opinion.

I don't have the pc with Belarc in it where I am but in a couple of days I will run it again. I did get a letter from them saying they were thankful for the inquiry and would attend to any issues.
