Hello
The day this patch was available, I installed it, even though it was not tagged as important, together with some other patches.
After that, Mediaplayer was not generating any sound through my sound card. After a lot of search (deinstalling and reinstalling my sound card), I decided to remove the patches one after the other. I could do it for all of them but patch KB2904440 without improving Mediaplayer.
I was not able to remove patch KB2904440 as the option for removing was grey. I had to go to the previous restore point and even there I got an error message saying that it was not able to restore correctly.
But after reboot I had a message on the desktop saying it had been restored to a point which was older to the one I had selected. After that my Mediaplayer worked again and I could install again the other patches.
Now this KB2904440 patch is considered as important and I am afraid of installing it again.
I saw on the WEB that some other people had problems removing it but with no follow up to their thread . Have you experienced problems with this patch?
Thank you
