Cumulative Security Update for Internet Explorer 10 for Windows 8 (KB2838727) isn't working very well on my laptop.
On installing this, after rebooting I'm a stuck on blue screen saying that the PC has encountered an error and needs to restart. It also shows an error code like 0xc000021a. While that message is displayed, a percentage meter goes to 100 and the PC is automatically rebooted.

Then it tries to diagnose and repair but fails and says that the PC could not be repaired and a Srt log file is saved.

Then the only thing which saves me is going to the Advanced Options within that recovery mode and restoring a system point.

Can someone help me on this? What exactly in this update is crashing my PC?

I had opened a similar thread in the BSODs category of the website, but now that I have realized that it's more related to a Windows Update I'm opening a thread here.

Thanks.

Regards,
Abhishek Sharma
