Hi
I have been running Windows 8, with media pack, in 32 bit mode for the last two months without problems.
I have now done a clean install with formatted drive of windows 8 in 64 bit mode. All went well and activation was a success. However the USB network adapter is giving serious problems and a suitable driver appears not to be available. Briefly the whole system locked up and I did a reinstall, which was successful. Trying to find a suitable driver again caused problems so the USB adapter was taken out and a refresh done. The network was then cable connected, which is okay. However on trying to activate it now returns that the activation key is in use on another computer and I have to buy another key. It wont give me the option to activate by phone.
I understood you could reinstall as many times as needed on the same computer, or does changing from 32 bit to 64 bit override that. If so how come I have done the exact same thing on my laptop with no problems. Unless anyone can suggest an answer I guess it is a call to customer support. I would appreciate your views.
