Update issues WIndows 8

Try selecting Updates one by one to update, and also uninstall any third party security.

ok i did some individually only 1 optional got updated , and i dont have a 3rd party security, i just refreshed my pc, is there any other solution for this?

ok i did some individually only 1 optional got updated , and i dont have a 3rd party security, i just refreshed my pc, is there any other solution for this?

Open a cmd prompt with admin rights and type without quotes.
" fsutil resource setautoreset true C:\ "
That should fix the 0x80071A91 error.

For the other one do the folowing.

1. Stop the Automatic Updates service. To do this, follow these steps:
a. Click Start, click Run, type services.msc, and then click OK.
b. Right-click the Automatic Updates service, and then click Stop.
c. Minimize the Services snap-in.

2. Rename the SoftwareDistribution directory. To do this, follow these steps:
a. Click Start, click Run, type cmd, and then click OK.
b. Type cd %windir%, and then press ENTER.
c. Type ren SoftwareDistribution SDTemp, and then press ENTER
d. Type exit, and then press ENTER .

3. Start the Automatic Updates service. To do this, follow these steps:
a. Maximize the Services snap-in.
b. Right-click the Automatic Updates service, and then click Start.
c. Close the Services snap-in window.

Then reboot and try the updates again.

What ever you want, the folder will be regenerated after reboot and update check. If all goes like it should, you can delete it later.

That does suck. Those are the fixes microsoft supplies for those errors. I did some googling and there is not much about others having the issues either, probably because 8 is new.

Well you could try refreshing it by running systemreset.exe in C:\windows\system32. Or you could start from scratch and fresh install windows, but thats quite a job if you have it all setup.
