update 8024401C error

I can not update the windows.. it says 8024401C error always. Anyone facing the same problem?it says Windows could not search for new updates. There was a problem checking for updates.i have used update troubleshooter.but no results .please help

The issue may be caused by the proxy. Because website for Windows 8 updates are different, and the websites may be not forward by the proxy server because of configuration issues on the proxy server. Can you access Internet without the proxy server?

I have also started receiving this error when I hadn't before now. I haven't made any changes to my computer.
