Windows 8 Pro Activation Problem

Hello eightforums!

Long story short

I installed windows 8 pro to my second laptop. A few weeks later, I decided I would input my 2nd WMC Code (I have 2 of them) After adding WMC to my laptop, it automatically rebooted after adding the features but now my laptop isn't activated anymore.

Solutions I tried:
Activating Windows via:
1. Re inputting my Windows 8 pro product key - That didnt work
2. Re inputting WMC code - That didn't work either.
3. Restarting laptop

I checked my 1st laptop's product key (which has wmc too) and it was different to my 2nd laptop which also has Wmc. From what I see, inputting my second Wmc code seems to have broken my activation. Is there any other solutions to solve this apart from clean install?

This appears to be a fairly common scenario - and it usually solves itself after a couple of days.

You can try activating over the phone - use 'SLUI 4' in Search to bring up teh wizard.

So what you are saying is that I should wait a couple of days and things will go back to normal?

Windows attempts activation fairly frequently until it succeeds - so with luck it'll do it itself.
You could also try telephone activation.

...or you can post a Licensingdiag report and I'll see if I can spot what's blocking it so far. (There's not much data available on how to read them as yet)

Please open an Elevated Command Prompt window (in Start, type 'Command' - a Command Prompt icon will appear, right-click on it, and select Run as Administrator)
At the Prompt, type

Licensingdiag.exe -report %userprofile%\desktop\report.txt -log %userprofile%\desktop\repfiles.cab

(note the spaces!)
two files will be put on your desktop -
open the 'report.txt' file in Notepad, and copy/paste the results to your response - you can ignore the repfiles.cab file for the moment, as it's only backup data
