Change System Drive on Win 8 Pro Upgrade?

I have it activated. I would like to replace the system drive with a new SSD drive and use that in the same computer. I would use an imaging program to backup, replace the drive, and recover to the system to the new SSD.

Will that affect my activation status?

Many thanks,

Maybe but probably not. Even if it does, it shouldn't be a problem activating it again. You are allowed some hardware changes. Swapping out the hard drive shouldn't be a big deal as far as activation goes.
