Microsoft close to naming Windows 8 build 9200.as final RTM copy

This time around another leak has floated around the web courtesy Win8China,who supposedly got hold of the screenshots of the Final Build of Windows 8 RTM which is said to be the build 9200.16384.WIN8_RTM.120725-1247.They also got a glimpse of the Lock Screen of Windows 8 RTM.

Though the earlier rumors indicated a version number of 8888 but it seems that due to Microsoft’s complex rules for selecting the version numbers.According to TheVerge who also seconds this story reports that the final versions compile process started on Wednesday outputting SKU, language, and install variations.

The Windows 8 RTM release is expected anytime in the next week, while the final public version has been confirmed earlier this month by Microsoft which will hit the stores on the 26th of October..

No. or Yes? Buy a technet subscription (as long as you use the software according to the license agreement)

Though as of yet it's not known WHEN technet will get it, may only be a couple weeks... or maybe a month.

Mere mortals will have access to the RTM via Technet or MSDN, probably sometime in August.

There will undoubtedly be "leaks" of the RTM on the torrent sites and such, but I wouldn't advise using any of these. I have no faith that the software hasn't been tampered with.

Seriously? what the hell, why do we have to wait till October 26th when the OS is pretty much done?

Now the final version goes out to all the vendors so then can test their drivers and fix any problems. Software companies can also test their products and make any correction. Gives them 3 Months to get it right.

While sleeping in the European part of Russia and Europe, Microsoft was in full swing during the entire flurry of activity, the result of this activity is the appearance of the first assembly only just emerging Windows 9.
The first assembly in the project was the assembly of Windows 9: 9200.16384.120725-1247.
This means that work on the gold code of Windows 8 and finished the final RTM build came Windows 8!

That has to be a rumor as traditionally, Microsoft has set build numbers to correspond with the Windows version.

If it's legit, we may have an alpha build!
