I wonder how many users will upgrade to 8 and then revert back to 7? That'll be a handy data set.

You'd have to have your head in the sand to buy a touch screen PC between June 12 and the Windows 8 launch; upgrading will be pretty irrelevant to everyone else.

It was $15. I remember mailing a cheque to MSI for my laptop. Only some OEMs will pay the $15 for you.

Some oem's charged handling and postage fees.

Some didn't - interestingly, those that didn't were largely specialist dekstop makers, like Chillblast

They will now have to charge £14.99 ( $24) because MS is charging them.

Mine was 100% free. i bought the copy of the Windows Vista media, and get a free coupon to obtain a free copy of the Windows 7 media when it became available. it was mailed right to my house, 100% free of charge.
