Your desktop will be a rich DX11-based experience, and your virtual GPU should be too

When you take Windows 8 Release Preview home and launch it, you’ll see a rich and immersive experience accelerated by a DX11 desktop. Your VDI solution should focus on bringing all of that to you, all while tackling the challenges of distance and connecting from anywhere.

I don't know what that means - marketing gobbledeygook.

Looks pretty dull to me.

Last I checked Microsoft took out Aero? And it would be pretty terrible if Windows 8 doesn't support anything below Dx11...

There are a lot that say this but I don't agree.
Aero is still there look for yourself in the themes folder. It's just not the same from Win7 anymore.

In the final version they'll took out transparency not Aero.

My point is: Why is Windows 8 REQUIRING DX11 to work if it doesn't have the Aero effects? If anything it's video requirements should be slightly LESS then Win7, if not the same.

DX11 minimum requirements sounds bad. The RP works with DX9 and DX10 cards. That will remain so in the final version or I'm simply just not gonna use it.
