Microsoft backs away from CISPA support

Microsoft is no longer as enthusiastic about a controversial cybersecurity bill that would allow Internet and telecommunications companies to divulge confidential customer information to the National Security Agency.

The U.S. House of Representatives approved CISPA by a 248 to 168 margin yesterday in spite of a presidential veto threat and warnings from some House members that the measure represented "Big Brother writ large." (See CNET's CISPA FAQ.)

Good to see MS have a degree of respect for the people. How much, I dunno, but based on this, lots better than the shills paid to represent the common man. Thumbs up Microsoft. Thank you for trying to treat your customers and people in general well.

Please, if possible, take this opportunity to present this thread to as many employees as possible as a sample of your customer base and just how much it is appreciated that you are doing the right thing by us. It is quite important in today's society and people will respect your company greater than ever before by taking a strong stance for the consumer.
