Now check which devices are accessing your Google Account

Google has rolled out a new security feature that lets you to view your account access history for the past 28 days, called Devices and Activity dashboard. Anyone with a Google account can access it here.

As well as device information, the dashboard also shows the location of the user accessing the account, which can be a big help to verify if it's legit or not.

I also saw on the same page under data tools the "inactive account manager". It lets you assign your account access to others if you stop using it for a period of time, presumably when you croak. You can also have the account deleted.

Isn't that a little bit scary? All the NSA needs to do to determine where you've been recently is to access your Google account, if you have one...

Sounds like a good idea. I hate those sites that make it so difficult to get accounts deleted if someone dies. As if there isn't enough other stuff to cope with already. But I guess all those inactive accounts boost their user numbers...
