Microsoft: Windows 10 upgrades for Lumia Windows Phone 8

Microsoft has spoken extensively about its plans for Windows 10 on PCs and tablets, but what is not yet completely clear is exactly what the phone side of things will look like. We've known for a while that Microsoft plans to consolidate Windows RT and Windows Phone into a single unified OS that's basically Windows 10 under the hood, but Microsoft isn't expected to reveal more on this until next year.

But today, someone at the company let the cat out of the bag. The official @Lumia Twitter account for Microsoft's handsets tweeted that "there will be Windows 10 upgrades for all Lumia Windows Phone 8 devices", adding that - to the surprise of no-one - there will be new handsets running Windows 10 in the future.

That means entry level Lumia 520 would be W10 based by next year, now that is called "out-reach" :cool:
