Announcing the Chrome 64-bit Beta Channel for Windows!

The Chrome Team is excited to announce the addition of the Chrome 64-bit Beta Channel for Windows 7 and 8 users. To try it out, download the 64-bit installer from our Beta download pages. The new version replaces the existing version while preserving all your settings and bookmarks, so there’s no need to uninstall a current installation of Chrome.

A full list of changes is available in the SVN log. Interested in switching release channels? Find outhow. If you find a new issue, please let us know by filing a bug.

At last, now I am really tempted to switch back to Chrome, regardless of all of its privacy issues. :p

It's pretty 'snappy'! :)
However, FF-about:config is still way more versatile than Chrome's-about:flags.

I just installed it earlier today and it seems to be a slight improvement. It plays nice with my extentions, so I'm a happy camper! :geek:

I have been using it for some time now, latest version is usable, without crashes, but it eats memory like money (huge memory leaks)... 4gb memory is not enough, a few tabs and it gone, need at least 8, or 16 gb of ram to use it...

This is like the quotes from the Game Stop in Phily about Finger Prints to trade/sell GS your old games.

"I'm like yo, dude, (scanning finger print), you don't need my finger print, why you need it bro...."
"Can we rescan that it didn't quite take the first time?"
"oh uh yeah, sure sure, np,,, (scanning Finger Print) dang man it's like I'm a criminal or something,
this is BS man"
"Ok sir your finger prints have been scanned we can buy your games now"

"der, ok, duh, der duh"

Anyone else got any comments on this?
I am a fairly new Chrome user. After reading this post, I ran IE and Chrome (32Bit) side by side. I am now on this site with both.

IE is using 35Mbs of memory.
Chrome is using 145mbs.

Not too alarming, if you have the ram, but a little worrying.

Use several different computers during a day, so specs are irrelevant.
Chrome 64 using a little less ram than FF but you have to disable as many 'about:flags' as possible,
FF a little heavier on the ram but still wins for speed, (with my prefs).

I like the TORCH browser, similiar to Chrome but has far more to offer and is faster than any of the other leaders. TOR on the other hand is slow but offers complete security. The signal bounces around before access is granted and so the slowness is frustrating.

Never heard of it until this thread. Installed but - wow. It really gobbles resources.
