A Linux desktop and tablet user and Windows 8

Haven't been able to install win8 yet, but reason for staying with win7 is the fact that printer and other drivers
readily available for windows, but sometimes hard to find or install with a linux distro. Linux tablet could do
well if everything is already integrated and whatever is plugged into it has the correct drivers available for it
already.

I think it was interesting to read that the DEFAULT metro Start Screen is so impersonal and ugly, and there is a link to a guide to "make it over." All it consists of is rearranging some tiles and naming groups, changing the color and pattern and that's it. Really right now?

I will agree that the Start Screen does need to look pretty at its final release. The Start Screen is what the user first sees and is what the user will see in retail stores. It has to look nice.
