Agree. Come what may!
Nonetheless, let's NOT begin another 'Start Menu' soap opera! ;)

Well, i disagree, it is not a very good os, it has many, many things, that are bad compared to windows 7, not just start screen. It feels like you are no longer in control of any action, there is so many automated things that you cant turn off, its ridiculous... It feels like ms wanted you to feel too safe, so they put YOU in a prison instead of bad things...

It's as good or better than Windows 7 in my books. I haven't had any problems doing what I want when I want. It can take some time to find some settings but they are there if you look hard enough. There are always things to learn with a new OS.

Since none of the replies seem to address the original topic, I'll try: From the referenced link it appears we know nothing about the upcoming 8.1 update (8.1.2) except that it is coming.

No, i'm apparently the only intelligent life form here, that puts quality of life first and is living how he wants, not dancing by the song "you kids do as microsoft says", and understands, that you will die in real world ten times, before someone will even try to mess with your virtual life, "oh no, they hacked my pron collection, what im gonna do...".
And those out of control things cannot be bypassed, because you dont even know what im talking about, all you can think of is that hidden start button, that no one has found yet :D...

That was uncalled for I never mentioned no start buttons imaginary or real. If Mr Intelligent Life Form would only enlighten us "Stupid Life Forms" exactly what you are talking about and why, with all that superior intelligence, you did not release your own OS by now with all the good stuff. (a pocket calculator would be good for start) everybody will be thrilled to bits (pun intended).

Its because i dont wanna anyone to use my products, lol. I agree with that thing, that everything must cost money and nothing can be public, ewww, every public or free thing is like public toilet(dont know how it is in your country, but in my country it is nightmare)... And yes, it looks like the only "big difficulty" thing that you use and can think of is hidden start button, cause you cant even imagine how much bad things i have found since windows 7... And it was completely called for.

Of course, of course, must be like that, whatever you say, except one little thing, how would you know ho much I know about windows or OSs ? I might be a bit rusty with Unix but that does not mean I know squat about Windows. And another thing, why did you get stuck talking about Start button. actually i rarely used it in windows before Win8 let alone to chase it now. New Start screen and carefully arranged shortcuts on desktop and Taskbar do fine job for me, together with more or less extensive use of console. So get over that thing about me and start menu of your menu (another pun), I don't need it, I don't want it and probably never will if M$ does not come up with something better that suits me.

As for the video, I really didn't gain much info from looking at it other than to speculate there's a start menu there. And NO, this isn't a bring back the start menu thread. Quite honestly I've gotten use to not having it that at this point it makes no difference to me. And no, I'm not using any OS tweaks to get a false start menu.

Anyway we'll see what we see when we actually get the update.

I call this a "I have nothing better to do today so I'll write an article of pure speculation with a video to impress them all" syndrome. :D

I think "Ron" should have titled it "Pure Speculation". Geez > How much of this stuff really comes true? The reality would be that it will eventually be released and it'll be different. It's like weather. The only thing for certain is that it'll be outside and it'll change.

We've heard rumors, we've all read reports, and we've all seen the leaked information.

Well, honestly no I haven't. Obviously you have. Why not post references it all instead of pulling it out of the air?

Sometimes I'll check out the author. Does "Ron" have a last name or is he just too embarassed or afraid to post it?

Pet turtles?! Walk slow do we? He must have a lot of time on his hands to take slow walks and write articles like this > And he's the "Chief"? :p
