Remote Desktop Preview app now available for Windows Phone

If you currently have Windows Phone 8.1 installed on your device as part of the Windows Phone Preview for Developers, you can now try out the Remote Desktop Preview app which is now available in the Windows Phone Store to download.

The Remote Desktop Preview app uses RDP 8.1 and RemoteFX that enables you to have a rich multi-touch experience that supports Windows gestures when you connect to Windows 8 devices for example. For a complete drill-down into all the capabilities of the Remote Desktop Preview app, head on over to the Remote Desktop Services Blog and read this blog post from David Bélanger who is a Program Manager on the Remote Desktop Team.

BTW, it works pretty darn nice, takes some getting used to, but not bad over all.
Nice feature in a pinch, not a main go to.

Yes the desktop ends up pretty small depending on phone screen size but most of the Windows are expandable, could be used in a pinch once you get used to expanding the little windows etc. Would be even better with a tablet.

First it wants the PC name like Robs-PC or the IP, but after that first screen it's looking for windows based credentials so it's looking for a Windows live account email address and the password for that account. After you do all that it then looks for a certificate on the Enterprise level but you can just choose "connect anyway" at that point.

You also need to enable remote desktop through the Control Panel>System Properties, and make sure your Windows live email address is showing up under the Remote tab>Select Users.

Once you get all that correct the desktop option just pop's up on the screen when using the App.
