Deploy Windows 8.1 the “Right Way”

Do you want to learn how to deploy Windows 8.1 the right way? We’ve got just what you need to get started with your deployment, the Windows 8.1 Deployment Jump Start.

This Jump Start from the Microsoft Virtual Academy is presented by MVP’s and deployment gurus Johan Arwidmark and Mikael Nystrom along with Michael Niehaus and Ben Hunter (myself) from the Windows Team.

This event is a real-life guide to deploying Windows 8.1, showing practical approaches to deployment learned by working with early adopters of Windows 8.1, that will save you time and effort.

This is recorded session, featuring live Q&A with the presenters, they start with the basics and then dive deep to teach you how to plan, configure, and manage client deployment to Windows-based computers in Microsoft System Center 2012 R2 Configuration Manager and the MDT. Why learn the hard way? Learn from the best, and jumpstart your deployments now!

Patrik, would you mind to report how this is going. Looks a bit academic to me.

For those interested, but who missed the live event last week, this has now been made available as a Microsoft Virtual Academy course:
    Windows 8.1 Deployment Jump Start

I haven't tried it myself yet (and it's only an interest to me rather than something I need to do as part of my job or whatever).

Not gonna happen where I work. The IT people don't want the headaches that would surely come their way.

Thanks Shawn, just got though reading some of this in the latest MS TechNet Flash Letter. Like WHS it is just too much for my stroke infested brain. . .interesting reading though.

It was pretty intense. The first three hours were good, but the last hour was jam packed. Unless you had some prior experience working with these products (like MDT, ADK and SCCM), you probably would have been lost.

For me personally, I work in a small office and it's harder to actually maintain systems like this than it is to maintain a standalone image of a particular piece of hardware. But if I had hundreds or thousands of machines to roll out, these types of software packages would be priceless (and in the case of MDT and ADK are free).
