IE10 under attack as hackers exploit zero-day bug

Computerworld - FireEye today said it had discovered that attackers are actively exploiting a new, unpatched vulnerability in Internet Explorer 10 (IE10).

Microsoft confirmed the Milpitas, Calif. security company's report.
"Microsoft is aware of targeted attacks against Internet Explorer, currently targeting customers using Internet Explorer 10," a Microsoft spokesperson said via email. "We are investigating and we will take appropriate actions to help protect customers."

Whether or not one uses IE, it's wise to always keep it up to date to avoid backdoor malware, so everyone should have IE11 onboard. Also keep it's add-ons up to date.
Even if you use another browser as your default, some applications still use IE behind the scenes.

True enough. I don't use it, but sometimes I do, as some pages simply don't load in Cyberfox. So yea, for sure, the latest and greatest all the way...!!!

There's one good thing about IE gaining market shares, lately seems the serious hacks are directed there, and seemingly less hacker energy spent on other browsers, good for us using Firefox :O) But no reason to relax in the security dept.

Desktop as there is no immersive app for IE 9 or IE 10. IE 11 is not vulnerable and is the only version in Windows 8, 8.1.
