Even though Microsoft hasn’t launched a new firmware update for the Surface Pro 2 this month, it turns out that some of the Windows 8.1 fixes rolled out as part of Patch Tuesday are causing problems on this particular tablet model.

Microsoft’s Community forums are complaining that after installing the updates, the booting process takes anywhere between 3 and 5 minutes, while some are even claiming that the sleep mode is no longer working.
Here’s what one of the affected users is writing in a post on Microsoft Community:
“Ironically I didn't notice any significant problems with the December patch everyone was really upset about, but todays patch has added 3-5 minutes to my boot up time, which was originally 10-15 seconds. After seeing the Surface logo and the loading dots, I'm met with a blank screen (activated, but blank) for anywhere between 3 and 5 minutes.
