Users Experiencing Surface Pro 2 Issues After Installing January 2014 UpdatesEven though Microsoft hasn’t launched a new firmware update for the Surface Pro 2 this month, it turns out that some of the Windows 8.1 fixes rolled out as part of Patch Tuesday are causing problems on this particular tablet model.
Users who posted on Microsoft’s Community forums are complaining that after installing the updates, the booting process takes anywhere between 3 and 5 minutes, while some are even claiming that the sleep mode is no longer working.
Here’s what one of the affected users is writing in a post on Microsoft Community:
“Ironically I didn't notice any significant problems with the December patch everyone was really upset about, but todays patch has added 3-5 minutes to my boot up time, which was originally 10-15 seconds. After seeing the Surface logo and the loading dots, I'm met with a blank screen (activated, but blank) for anywhere between 3 and 5 minutes.

Thanks! I don't experience this particulair bug myself. But then again, that might be because I had all the "December firmware" issues. So I did a factory reset to revert those changes.
Perhaps this only effects the devices with the December firmware?
