Windows 8.1 update images pop up online

One Web site claims the spring update to Windows 8.1 won't just be a traditional service pack.

An update to Windows 8.1 reportedly planned for the spring is now showing off online via a series of leaked screenshots.

Served up by Russian Web site Wzor, the images show the same internal version number currently found in Windows 8.1 Pro (version 6.3.9600) but the full build number is intentionally blanked out. Assuming the images are accurate, that means the update won't carry with it Windows 8.2. But it won't be a simple service pack or collection of security updates, at least according to Wzor.

No one is yet confirming any major changes like a returning MS desktop menu or options to completely disable tifkam other than ticks that make it unseen. I haven't seen anything other than rumors about numbers either. It's like 8.1.whatever but not 8.2 > I don't care anyway. I downloaded an 8.1 ISO from Newegg and put it on a thumb. 8.1 in its current form works fine. Maybe updates will help others with their issues.

Leaked Windows 8.1 update shows no Start menu

SOFTWARE COBBLER Microsoft apparently plans to release an update to Windows 8.1.

According to Neowin, a leaked early build of the update has been seen in the wild and appears to change very little, having much in common with the Service Packs of older versions of Windows.
It has been hoped that Microsoft will reinstate the Start menu, which it removed from Windows 8 to almost universal customer disapproval. However, there is no evidence of this in the leak.
