Leaked Screenshots from Windows Server 8 Beta

A few weeks ago I reported on a leak that had shown up of the Windows Server 8 Beta. There wasn’t really a whole lot to look at then, but now thanks to WinUnleaked I’ve got a few more screenshots to share with you this time.

The other day Microsoft went into a bit more detail about Windows Server 8, primarily about this new file storage method known as ReFS that is only going to be in Windows Server 8. There’s a few screenshots of that below as well.

Hi there
I think the idea of a new file system is fine --but I'm sure the takeup won't be huge for YEARS -- reason is there is so MUCH legacy stuff around --and even NTFS can be read by Linux -- plenty of COMMERCIAL linux based servers have windows client machines.

I can see it being used initially for backups, and possibly RAID but as a replacement for NTFS --well this year....next year ....sometime...never who knows.

Good news on the progress of W8 server itself however.

Cheers
