Windows 7/ 8 CP - starlite linux (debian)
Sheesh!! Trust me, going with Microsoft's track record, the retail version will NOT be released then, right now there is still a ton of fine tuning MS has to do, and we will see the fruits of our input here this Feb 2012 with the Consumers Preview. (beta) I don't see a release date till ATLEAST before Christmas season 2012 myself.

Win7 64-bit and Win8 32-bit in VM (+ others in VM)
Win7 went RTM in August 2009 - and on sale in October 22. OEM's were happy with that schedule
It was Vista that ticked off the OEM's because it went RTM in November - too late for the Christmes sales - and wasn't public until January 2007
[edit - actually, Win7 officially went RTM on July 22, but the only people to get copies before Aug4 were the biggest Direct OEM clients]
