Can Windows 8 Deliver for Microsoft?

With smartphones and tablets taking up more and more of our browsing time, people have forgotten about the operating system monopoly that Microsoft still has with their Windows software. Sure, Google and Apple are taking more innovations, leaps, and bounds when it comes to exploring new ways to access information, but nearly every home with a computer in America is running on a Windows platform. While the platform is tried and tested, Microsoft is planning to revamp its image with their next installment of the software, Windows 8.

    Hi there
see my post on the Malware problems that have been found on Android Smart Phone Apps -- W8 could be a Great Platform for the next generation of smart phones -- possibly an "I-phone" killer.

    cheers

W8 will be a nice addition to the mobile market and it will attract Windows users more easily than the other options. But Apple and Android are pretty much ahead at this moment and will not give room without a fight.

I really doubt that Windows will ever become as dominent in the mobile market as it is on PCs. They have a lot of catching up to do.

    WHS,
I guess I am old fashioned to the point where I have one cell phone with limited minutes.
Using it only to check on my wife when I am away from her so I don't surf, text or take pictures with it.

I will close for now and climb back into my cave and carve pictures on the walls.

How do you spell.........Gieco.............the Neandrathal add on TV

You are far ahead of me. I have no cell phone (nor does the wife) and I never watch TV. So I am afraid I cannot help you with a TV ad. I would not even have a PC if the wife had not dragged one into the house - in 2007.
