Mozilla is in desperate need of a new lighter weight interface overhaul and a faster browsing engine to boot in order to compete with the likes of Chrome 30 and Internet Explorer 11 on both Windows 7 and Windows 8.1 platforms.
What do you mean "lighter weight interface"? If you're talking about the further dumbing down of the GUI and hiding features/options....no thanks.
Agreed.
Firefox is the only browser (in the "Big Three") that still lets you customise most of your GUI.
Firefox-based browsers like Pale Moon allow customisation too.
I hate the current "no controls, no menus" browser fad/trend.
If you want "Full Screen" viewing, just press "F11" (it works in every browser I've tried and a lot of programs too).
As for page rendering, what exactly are you people doing with the split seconds saved while using Chrome over Firefox? Not a browser fanboy here. Use what you like, but I am curious.
You could use a local site to determine if the problem is a browser rendering issue.
I normally blame network congestion.
Based on the browser lab tests, you shouldn't be able to notice any real difference between any of the "Big Three".
Well, firefox is slow browser and will be forever, but they really should get rid of thousands of bugs... i dumped it because it is time bomb, it will explode anytime and no recover will work, a few newest "stable" versions are just piece of crap.
I see this posted on a regular basis.
Firefox seems to crash non-stop on some machines and runs perfectly on others.
Sometimes add-ons (or Flash) cause weird problems.
Did you try using "FF Safe Mode"?
Firefox - Start Firefox in "Safe Mode" - Windows 7 Help Forums
Sometimes files get corrupted in the FF User Profile.
Creating a new profile fixes that issue.
Firefox - Create and Run Multiple Profiles - Windows 7 Help Forums
Here is another browser test link:
Browsermark 2.0 - Welcome
W8 + FF22 got the highest score on that site.
I didn't run a "clean" test (i.e. I was using my network for other stuff at the time).
You can see how low my Internet bandwidth is compared to their highest rated OS + Browser combo.
