    Thanks for posting, I.

I guess we'll get to the facts now. This will be interesting to watch unfold.

Suit against Microsoft over Surface RT: Valid points, or evidence of bottom-feeding lawyers?

Another day, another lawsuit, this one alleging that Microsoft purposely misled investors over the poor prospects of its Surface RT tablets. Does the class-action lawsuit have validity, or is it just one more instance of lawyers trying to cash in on bad news, a sign of a legal system gone amok?
The Surface RT has been a fiasco by any accounting. It's been a failure, as has Windows RT itself. It's not likely that Windows RT and Surface RT will survive in the long term.

But making mistakes in business isn't illegal. Microsoft hasn't done anything illegal here. This suit should be thrown out as soon as possible.

Given the blinding speed that the wheels of the legal system turn, it will probably be as interesting as "watching paint dry".

Of course it is. I'm no fan of Windows 8, 8.1, or any of the Surface products, but this lawsuit is beyond ridiculous. Judges could put a stop to crap like this by immediately dismissing frivolous claims, but they allow them to get through. In the end the enable they ambulance chasers to fill the dockets with B.S.

For sure it will be a while. Court clocks work at quarter time.

It is obviously wrong to mislead the shareholders. I have no idea if what went on here counts a that. Perhaps there should have been an indication MS would be left holding a huge pile of unsold surfi. Announcing that may have made things even worse. Always tricky for a CEO to talk up their products if they aren't going very well.

You guys should go ahead and read the pdf document provided. It is obvious whoever wrote it didn't know the first thing about technology. All the things wrong with 8 that it describes are also in iOS and android.... and macOS.
