Windows tablets tank, account for only 1 percent of Web...

If you judge market share by Web usage, Windows tablets have failed. A new report by the online ad network Chitika finds that they account for one percent of all Web tablet traffic, compared to 84.3 percent for iPads. Worse yet, the numbers haven't budged for months.
Clearly, Microsoft's tablet strategy is failing. Given that Microsoft has refocused itself as a devices-and-services company, it's bad news that what may be its most important device is selling so poorly. Unless the company can come up with a winning tablet strategy, its recent reorganization won't help a bit.

New products take time to become established in the market, the windows tablet is just an example of this. Over time as hardware and software improvements are made , along with pushing "ads" on tv/internet/radio and promotions the windows tablet should be a success.

Keep in mind that iPads have been in the market for much longer. Consumers generally pick what they're most familiar with, so it'll be a while before the Microsoft Surface picks up steam. That being said, however, I'm not optimistic about the Microsoft Surface. The last time Microsoft tried to compete with Apple in a market Apple was already familiar with, it failed. Zunes were never able to compete with iPods.

It also doesn't help that Apple created a cult of personality with its consumers.
