Anyone here was able to mount non-NTFS images (UDF/CDFS) on that build? I tried to mount an Office 2013 ISO using Explorer and nothing, then I tried to install Virtual CloneDrive. It installed, but I still couldn't mount the image, and to finish the computer ran into a memory management error. It can't be right !

Nice. Thanks for the info! So I guess the hidden popup start thingy is going the way of the dodo.

Sounds like they're still deliberately trying to screw those who reject Metro.

I really do hope Classic Shell will still work.

Not worried about Office 2013, as I have no intention of side-grading from Office 2010.

Wenda.

I am confident that the start menu replacements will work... eventually. Stardock (and I am sure Classic Shell) have some A+ coders working on it and will find a way. Though I wouldn't doubt MS put up some roadblocks.

Classic Shell 3.7.1 works, but version 3.5.x and older ones don't.

I really do hope Classic Shell will still work.

I have heard that Microsoft removed a lot of the code many of these tools depended on, it was all undocumented anyways. I'm sure they'll just implement their own versions.

Not sure what you mean, I find Office 2013 to be a substantial upgrade over 2010. Just a few things I use regularly:

  • Conversation View in Outlook
  • Cloud Integration (you can use almost any cloud provider, you don't have to use Skydrive)
  • New licensing allows you to install Office on up to 5 PC's AND 5 Mobile devices with one license
  • Page Duplication in Visio
  • Quick Analysis in Excel
  • PDF Editing!
  • I know it's silly, but I really like the weather info in Outlook Calendar view
  • And my favorite is the new Cloud based storage for OneNote (along with the Android and iOS apps) to share notes.

Sidegrade? hardly.. This is all just off the top of my head.
