MS defeated, changed the new name UI from Metro to Modern

If MS was so confident about the Metro why change the name to "Modern"?

Frankly I despise the Metro UI (ON A DESKTOP OR LAPTOP) although it is perfect and actually GOOD for phones and tablets!

MS should backtrack on the name change and continue to call the new mobile UI "Metro"

I know this article is old but it is relevant to the situation. From Gizmodo :

So Metro is gonna me called Modern now? There are already a few Apps that use that word.

Worse is it is confusing to the general users.

There is NOTHING wrong with Metro UI, when it is in the CORRECT environment.

Yes, because of a Trademark dispute with a German retail company called Metro AG.

I'm surprised that MS didn't try and negotiate the issue. Considering that the brand is being used on two COMPLETELY different NONrelated things.

Also since it was only ONE country where there was an issue, they could have simply kept the Metro name in the rest of the world and changed it to Modern for Germany only.

Me make-a think Microsofties no want Metro name anyway and use lawsuit as excuse to make-a concede.

At the time Metro make-a everyone say "Metro-sexual" and they no like image.

Me show you: Microsoft's Windows 8 logo: Metro but not in a good way | ZDNet

'The problem here is that I can't think of Microsoft's Metro theme without putting a "sexual" behind it. Metrosexuals are supposed to really care about their looks and hygiene. The Windows 8 logo looks forced and the equivalent of a pink shirt you might find your friendly neighborhood metrosexual wearing. Or as forced as a Ryan Seacrest-Steve Ballmer hug.'

Hi there

How can it possibly be "Modern". Looks remarkable similar to the "Kiddies Section" of AOL from 1996 so AT LEAST 18 YEARS OLD.
In fact OLDER Interface than XP !!!.

(In computing terms 18 years is almost a Geological age ago - so the Interface really belongs in equivalent years to "The age of the Dinosaurs").
