A Windows 8 rebuild plan for Microsoft

Summary: There's been much angst and consternation surrounding Windows 8, the big Blue update and the missing Start button. Fear not, Windows faithful, Ken Hess is here to help with suggestions for a Windows 8 rebuild.

First, I want to get rid of that silly Metro interface with those ridiculous-looking, giant tiles. I want simplified pictures to use, let's call them icons that more accurately represent the underlying program. Here's an example of what Windows 8 currently offers and what I propose as a replacement.

Here is the whole story hope some one at M$ listens.

Hess is joking. He is an 8 supporter.

What is funnier is that his proposal ( altho not pretty ) is better than metro - almost anything is better than metro.

Before Windows 3.1, there was something called DOS Shell. It was a full-screen task switcher which didn't let you look at multiple apps at the same time and didn't multi-task properly. Does that remind you of anything...?

I don't think it would be called a "rebuild" plan, more like "quickly build upon the current development and release it sooner than later" plan. Which is good.

Sure is. DOS is better than Metro.

The unfortunate thing is that there is nothing "funny" about the debacle that is forcing the boot to Metro on Windows 8 users.
People are starving in the third world, but the Start Screen isn't funny.

Sorry, I escalated this too quickly..... Never mind.

Hey I once had Windows 3.1...and 95, 98, 98 SE, ME, 2K, XP, Vista and 7.

Pretty much missed out on all the NT ones except 2K because I needed it for school and my college gave me a free license.

Isn't this just exactly what some have asked for? ... folders and nesting on the start screen?
... a windowed start screen on the desktop with minimize - maximize - move - close buttons?
