AMD's Chips, Software Laying Foundation for Windows 8
Advanced Micro Devices said this week that all of its DirectX 10 and DirectX 11 graphics products will support Windows 8 when Microsoft rolls out the operating system.
AMD will support DirectX 11, the C++ AMP language and the HTML-5-accelerated Metro UI, Gabe Gravning, AMD's senior software marketing manager, said in an interview. Gravning spoke with PCMag.com before BUILD, which will coincide with the Intel Developer Forum, where Intel is expected to talk about its Windows 8 plans as well.
