Who cares if we're a minority, Dare to be different. I can whip through Windows 8 a lot faster than I ever could through Windows 7. I rarely close programmes down and use the edge to reopen them.
Agree with all of that... I think sometimes there is no hope. I understand the design of 8 and the reasons behind it, but many will never be comfortable adapting to new technologies.
It does not really matter what you guys think. You are a minute minority.
I am a member of a computer club with 800 mostely elderly members. For a while I was teaching advanced Windows 7 classes there. Now every time I am at the club, several people come up to me with always the same story:
"I bought this new laptop and it came with Windows 8. How can I get Windows 7 back". When I tell them that given time they will get used to it, the answer usually is: " But I don't want to get used to it" - or something like that. At the same time, the Windows 8 classes that we offer are hardly attended.
I go one step further and ask them what they are doing with the laptop. Usually it is mail, skype with their kids and grandchildren, storing some photos, browsing the web. For that kind of scenario I recommend they return the laptop and get a Chromebook instead. Life will be a lot easier.
Now I probably have to buy a Chromebook myself because I see them coming to ask me to teach them how to use that.
